Mix-Lucy

I've just been going through the 'Mix Trends Global Color Research Issue 23: Autumn/Winter 2012/12' thanks to my Dad being on the Global Color Research Panel :) and came across the gorgeous trend, 'Tender'. This is really really fitting to Marie Antoinette!!

Nature, in giving tears to man, confessed that he had a tender heart. This is our noblest quality.

Just as the Georgians took their inspiration from the classical world, we now look to the late 18th and early 19th century for design pointers, which, given the simplicity of the aesthetic, fits comfortably into today's minimalist surroundings. But this isn't a homage to a Jane Austen, pretty in sprigged linen and clutching a volume of poetry. Rather, Tender captures the ravages of time and is more Miss Havershan than Elizabeth Bennet, complete with essential cobwebs. The palette too, moves away from simple pastiche; glitter adds a touch of glamour while classic Georgian shades such as blue and grey contrast with pink and azure.

Pastels meet a modern twist.
